Video

Google loves video content. In fact, sometimes, Google loves video content more than 3,000 word articles. There’s a very good reason for this as well. Consumers like video content more than 3,000 word blog posts!

A lot of marketers make the mistake of thinking that everything has to relate to Google. When you post to your site, you don’t always need to think about your ranking. Sometimes posting great content that you know is relevant to your audience is the way to go.

Don’t fight the changes that are being made to the Google algorithm, instead, try and embrace the changes.  If you try and understand how your user behaviour is changing, then this will help you to meet the changes in the Google algorithm.

If you put a video on your site, in this day and age, then you are 53% more likely to rank. If you incorporate a video onto one of your main pages then you may find that your conversion rate rockets by around 80%. These statistics are very hard to ignore. Of course, if you add a video to your email then you may find that your click-through rate improves too. All of this is because people are demanding more video content, and Google is responding to that.

Bullet Points and Listicles

Bullet points are your friend if you want to take advantage of internal links. Bullet points give you a dual incentive. Why? Because they help to break up your content into more manageable chunks, and it also helps important information to stand out from the rest of the page. This means that your users are much more likely to take note of them. After all, dot points are much easier to read when compared to chunk texts.

If you fill your page with bullet points though, then this will dilute your impact and it will work against you, so you have to be careful about that. Listing service benefits in bullet point form will help the reader.

On top of this, it will also help you to use your bullets by giving you the chance to link to internal pages too. Listicles are also great because they are short, snappy, and easy for the user to digest, in the same way, that bullet points are. The great thing about listicles is that they present information in an easy to understand way.

Authority Articles

Authority articles are a very good way for you to boost your ranking. Authority articles tend to include a strong industry slant, with lots of statistics and links. You need to put out content that is influencer-worthy and you also need to try and get high authority domains to link and share it as well. The great thing about posting authority articles is that it builds your link profile, and it also helps you to get a lot of push when it comes to your content.

Of course, another thing that you need to make sure that you are doing with authority articles is posting information that hasn’t really been posted before. This could include doing your own research to get stats, figures, and numbers that pertain to a particular industry or topic. This will encourage even more people to link to you and it will also make it much easier for you to gain traction when it comes to your SEO ranking.

Google loves this kind of content because it’s valuable and it helps you to stand out as being the most authoritative choice when a particular keyword is searched.

Of course, there are many things that you can do to try and make your site stand out on Google, but ultimately, it starts out with making sure that you are doing what Google wants while meeting the needs of your users. If you do one without the other, your site will falter, so hitting that fine line between the two is very important.
